New Meeting Schedule for East Boston Kiwanis Club for 2011-2012 Year
Starting in October, the East Boston Kiwanis Club has switched to its new meeting schedule for the 2011-2012 club administrative year. Instead of meeting every week at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, the club will hold regular meetings on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, starting with the October 4th and October 18th meetings. The meetings begin at 6 p.m. and will still be held at Spinelli's Banquet facility in Day Square, East Boston. The monthly board meetings will now be held on the second Tuesday of each month, at 6 p.m. The location of the board meetings will vary, but the October 11th meeting will be held in the East Boston Savings Bank offices on Meridian Street, just outside of Maverick Square. There will be no regular meeting that night.

Community Service Projects Planned for Kiwanis Club
Starting in October, 2011, the East Boston Kiwanis Club does not hold regular, sit-down meetings on the fourth Tuesday of each month. However, the club will be sponsoring service projects across the East Boston community. The club plans to collect canned goods, other food items and monetary donations outside of the Shaw's supermarket in Central Square. That effort will be held on Tuesday, October 25, from 4-7 p.m. The donations collected that night will be donated to the food pantry at the Grace Federated Church.

The community service project for the month of November will involve club members and supporters helping the Grace Federated food pantry to pack turkey dinners during Thanksgiving week of November 21-25. More details on this project will follow, so stay tuned...
